Great happy hour! Multiple visits after we first found this spot last fall. The ambience is super relaxing with great indoor seating, and awesome outdoor deck with high tops and a must-see classic bar - all with open views of the back bay. Staff top-notch, pro-level and wonderfully engaging. Make you feel right at home. Cocktail list is fantastic and lots of regional craft beers. Our food has been excellent, and served with a smile. Garlic parm wings a must, and mussels with nice toasts points and plenty of dipping juice always fresh. Oysters have been phenomenal and we really enjoy the grilled mahi tacos and its fresh ingredients. Our off-season visits have been very chill, we're looking forward to the spring opening (here), and always look forward to our next visit.

Ummmm, just look at the food! The chowdah by the mug is a must have! Absolutely delicious and we had an amazing sunset view. Recommended.

The Lobster Shanty
Our two person party visited the Lobster Shanty (37310 Lighthouse Rd., Fenwick Isle, DE 19944) for a late lunch on a Wednesday afternoon at about 3:30. We wouldn't be needing dinner!
The atmosphere is very casual and laid back. One could feel comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt or a sport jacket. It is a beachy restaurant after all.
We walked right in and had our choice of "sun or shade" as offered by the hostess. We chose shade and got a wonderful table right by the windows looking out over the bay that was, indeed, shaded even with a great view. An osprey visited the nest right outside the windows and accompanied us for the rest of our meal.
We had an appetizer, 2 adult beverages each, two entrees, and a shared dessert. Our bill was $103 before tip, and well worth every penny (happy hour saves a few bucks on each drink and appetizer).
The drinks were tasty and tall. The crab and artichoke melt was served with toasted bread chips and is one of the better "crab dip" offerings in the area.
The stuffed lobster tail was sizeable and well stuffed with a tasty crab mixture of more crab than breading. The accompanying asparagus tips and mashed potatoes were very good.
The grilled chicken and avocado blt was excellent. Five fresh slices of avocado accompany a very substantial chicken breast with two, just right crispy pieces of bacon and melted provolone. The nice slice of lettuce and tomato are all served in a sort of "build your own" plate setting which makes it easier to get the sizable sandwich just right for you. The coleslaw was creamy, crisp, and very satisfying. Don't skip the sauce, and upgrade to the fries if your diet allows!
If you can manage one of the desserts, share! Ask your server (Kris was awesome, knowledgeable, and just the right mix of attentive without being intrusive!) about the size. The apple fritter was really good. A large bowl with an equally large fritter topped with two scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, fresh berries (blueberries and strawberries) and drizzled with some (butterscotch maybe?) tasty topping.
We will, without a doubt, be back.
My guess, given the prep work that was going on when we left, is that it gets pretty busy later on. A late afternoon visit was just the ticket and we loved our experience.
